Author Story: Louis Gump
April 9, 2025
Louis Gump has built a career leading innovation, driving business growth, and transforming teams across some of the world’s most recognized companies. Currently serving as the President of Cambian Solutions and with decades of experience in digital media, advertising, and leadership, Gump has now turned his expertise into a powerful resource for aspiring intrapreneurs with his book, The Inside Innovator: A Practical Guide to Intrapreneurship.
To bring his vision to life, Gump partnered with Fast Company Press. “It just seemed like a natural fit because my book is focused on innovating inside larger companies,” Gump said. “Fast Company Press has a reputation of being a destination and a source for many leading thinkers, authors, and practitioners.”
Beyond being a great fit for Gump, Fast Company Press had another strength: its reach for business leaders. “Fast Company Press is a brand that’s recognized by a lot of the people I know and work with,” Gump said. “When people heard I was writing a book on innovation inside larger organizations, they were excited. And when they learned I was publishing with Fast Company Press, they really paid attention.”
And more and more people have paid attention. Since its release, The Inside Innovator, has been a rousing success. In 2024, it won Gold in Business at the Nonfiction Book Awards and was named a finalist in Leadership at the 2024 National Indie Excellence Awards. For Gump, though, the most fulfilling aspect has been the feedback.
“The book has been a transformational experience in terms of perception,” Gump explained. “After the launch of the book, all these people started coming to me with their comments about how it affected them. ‘Hey, Lewis, I read your book and because of that, I now have a better understanding about what I’m going to do with my career. I feel like I’m more of an entrepreneur.’”
The book has also opened new doors for Gump’s business. Companies have reached out for speaking engagements and to purchase copies of his book for their teams to help develop in-house innovation leaders. “There’s a magnifying effect,” he said. “The book, the marketing, the PR, it’s reaching people I never would have had access to otherwise.”
For aspiring business authors, Gump highly recommends Fast Company Press. “If you want to align your voice with business thought leadership, technology, and innovation, Fast Company Press can be a game-changer,” he said. “Their production and editorial team took my work as a first-time author and turned it into something that has been very well received.”
